Family Night

Nope, not a big fan of the whole family sitting down in front of the TV for dinner and family time. Yet, that is what my precious fam is doing every night it seems. I sometimes think that we should not be sharing our delicious salmon and spinach with these people in the boob box! Who invited them into my house anyway?!

So tonight we are sharing our meal with the strangers on Americas Funniest Home Videos. Its good clean fun, and we are all commenting on the yummy-ness of the food. Then Daddy falls asleep in Mommy's lap after dinner. I feel loved, and needed; warm and fuzzy.

But what's this? Dad is asleep?! We have remote control!!! The girls must watch the ultimate girls' show: What Not To Wear. Then one little one climbs into my lap, above dh's head so she can cuddle her mom and dad. Next commercial the other one says she wants to trade places with her sister. Sweet baby! Daddy's sleep is disturbed, so he moves to the love seat.

Now its me and my girls all snuggled up and watching the most girlie show I know. Mommie heaven. But the best part is when its all over. Little sister has been asleep for a while, so we tuck her into bed. I lay my 7-yo in her bed. When I lean over to kiss her good night she wraps her little arms around me and won't let go. When my arms start to go numb, I ask her to let go. What does the little puddin' cup say? "I don't want to." So I had to lay beside her for a few minutes and soak it up. You know, all the snuggles and desire to be close to mommy. As I told her, there will be a day when I want her to cuddle up to me and she will say, "I don't want to." So for now I cherish it. I hope I will always remember how great it feels to be Momma.
